NMAH Story: Story
On that morning of September 11th, my mom came in my room and woke me up at about 6:15. She said, "Brittany, wake up. Two planes have just crashed into The Twin Towers in New York. I think you're probably going to be talking about it at school today. Come watch the news." So I imedietly got out of bed and went into the family room to watch the news. My older brother was already down there, with a face that was almost white. As I watched the news, I couldn't believe my eyes. It was such a tradjic scene, of the planes crashing into the two huge buildings. It will definetly be something that all of us, including me, will tell our kids about one day.
NMAH Story: Life Changed
I think my life has changed a lot because I'm more appreciative of America, I respect it more, and I'm very proud to be an American. And I think my family has changed a lot because we're more together, we spend more time with eachother, and we talk a lot about September 11th. Also my brother and I don't fight as much, and we help eachother more.
NMAH Story: Remembered
The fact that so many people died just because they were Americans. The victims were totally inoccent, and this should not have happened.
NMAH Story: Flag
We did hang up an American flag after September 11th, and my mom bought at magnet American flag to stick on the bumper of her car. I think when I see an American flag somewhere, it's really heart warming to see the flag being flown so much more than before, and knowing that people are so much prouder to be Americans. I look at the American flag alot differently now, and I'm very proud to be an American.
