NMAH Story: Story
On September 10th, I was in surgery for a operation on my knee. On the morning of the 11th, I awoke on my couch from a perscribed painkiller. As I turned on the television, I was confused as to the fictional movie I was watching. Only after seeing the second plane hit, did I realize that I was watching a life altering event happening. As I watched the news coverage of all the attack sites, I was deeply, I don't know if affected is the right word, about the losses being suffered and the bravery being displayed. One of the things that I remember most was the CEO of Canter-Fitzgerald realizing that 90% of his company had ceased to exist.
NMAH Story: Life Changed
My life has changed in the fact I take nothing for granted anymore. I can no longer take it for granted that I will see my wife at the end of the day, nor can she ever again have the security of knowing she will see me. We make a special point of making sure we tell eachother we love eachother at least once a day.
NMAH Story: Remembered
The loss of life should never be forgotten, but the heroic effort that was displayed should always be remembered. For it is this effort that exists not only on that day, but every day before and since.
NMAH Story: Flag
My wife and I have flown at least three small American flags on every day since 9-11. We will continue to do so as long as either of us os capable.
