NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. On September 10th, I was in surgery for a operation on my knee. On the morning of the 11th, I awoke on my couch from a perscribed painkiller. As I turned on the television, I was confused as to the fictional movie I was watching. Only after seeing the second plane hit, did I realize that I was watching a life altering event happening. As I watched the news coverage of all the attack sites, I was deeply, I don't know if affected is the right word, about the losses being suffered and the bravery being displayed. One of the things that I remember most was the CEO of Canter-Fitzgerald realizing that 90% of his company had ceased to exist. NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. My life has changed in the fact I take nothing for granted anymore. I can no longer take it for granted that I will see my wife at the end of the day, nor can she ever again have the security of knowing she will see me. We make a special point of making sure we tell eachother we love eachother at least once a day. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? The loss of life should never be forgotten, but the heroic effort that was displayed should always be remembered. For it is this effort that exists not only on that day, but every day before and since. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? My wife and I have flown at least three small American flags on every day since 9-11.
