NMAH Story: Story
We had just switched classes from first to second block at Mansfield High School, when my students came streaming in saying, "Mrs. DeLotto, we need to turn on the television." Of course, I resisted, but they seemed sincere, so I turned the television on. It was just before 9:00 CST. We watched in horror, and I spent most of the time stunned, putting my hand over my mouth to keep from screaming.
NMAH Story: Life Changed
I am more aware of my surroundings, and I evaluate whether or not I want to go to a place with large crowds. Is a baseball game really that important?
NMAH Story: Remembered
The most memorable part to me is the valor of everyday citizens. We were at our best that day. I hate that it takes something so drastic to wake us up from slumber and complacency.
NMAH Story: Flag
No, I didn't fly a flag, as I felt it was a type of "jump on the bandwagon" movement. I did like seeing the flags people placed in the back of their pickups. (We're in Texas, you know.)
