Childhood
How has your life changed because of what happened on September 11, 2001?
9/11 formulated my view of the world as a child. I was so young when it happened, but I vividly remember watching the second tower get hit by a plane. The Bush War years followed and with that, came a worldview of both intense patriotism and deep frustration with the reaction to our own pain--namely a war that killed more of us--, that required the subjugation of populations and deaths of more people than we lost on 9/11. Is that how we want to honor the victims and the pain? Of course, go after the bad guys, but unfortunately we didn't kill just bad guys.
