I had just woke up to my telephone ringing. It was one of my dearest friends who lived in another state. He just recently relocated and sometimes called in the mornings. I was half asleep while talking on the phone so things were already not really registering. Just at the moment I decided to turn on the television the awful image of a plane flying through the World Trade Center had just shown. I was not really sure what was going on. I always watch in the morinigns but this time my stomach was torn up. I was on the phone trying to explain what I had just seen and my friend did not believe me. No one in America believed it either. I will never forget sharing that moment with someone I love and never forget that image. I am so lucky to be able to keep the ones I love but unlucky to have to share the departure of so many fellow americans. As long as I live I will never forget.
