911DA Story: Story
BLOODY SEPTEMBER
Today is the day, we will always remember/ How a city fell, a nation grieved, and the world stood still/ For those who died, and those who survived on Bloody September.
Where were you when you first heard the news that day?/ The planes, the towers, our heros buried beneath the rubble/ Was life over as we knew it? Was this the end of the "American way"?
From all over this great nation, the volunteers would come/
We gave of our time, our money, and our own blood/ Because some gave all, all would give some.
Lash out, or reach out - wise men chose the latter/ For that one day, we all bled red, white, and blue/ And, the color of my brother's skin, ceased to matter.
They said: united we'd stand, or divided we'd fall/ The world's never seen people pull together like that!/ We were humbled and proud to be a part of it all.
Are we a better nation, a wiser people today?/ Do you hug your loved ones a little tighter?/ And, do you remember to give thanks when you pray/
Today is the day, we will always remember/ How a city rose, a nation stood, and the world was in awe/ Of those who died, and those who survived Bloody September.
