911DA Story: Story

On September 11th, I woke up to turn on the TV and see a horrible sight. I thought war had broken out in the middle east or there was a bombing at a nuclear power plant. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine what had taken place in New York, Pennsylvania and Washinton DC. During this time, I was also dealing with my own shock, I had learned I was pregnant that morning before I turned on the TV. To make things even more interesting, my daughter's father was an active duty solider in the Army and had gone on 30 minute recall and was probably leaving the Country. That day was one I will NEVER forget. Once things had set in and I learned exactly what had happened back East, my heart sank. I remember crying for all of the people who had been lost and for their families. I never dreamed during my life that we could have been attacked like that and my worst nightmare had been broadcasted on TV. All during the day while I went to the doctor to confirm my pregnancy I kept in touch with family and friends. September 11th was truly a day that brings a great deal of sorrow to me because of the loss of life, but also a sense of hope because I knew on that day that my daugher, Jordan Renee was going to come into the world.
