NMAH Story: Story
When the attacks on the World Trade Centers occured, I was actually sleeping. Minutes after the first plane hit, my dad ran up to my room to allert me of the situation. My dad tends to joke a lot, and at the time, I didn't really even know what the World Trade Center was. So I brushed it off as a simple joke. Then he told me to turn on the television. I was shocked as i saw the horror unfold on my screen. I was almost late for school that morning because both mt dad and I could not pry ourselves away from the TV.
NMAH Story: Life Changed
Yes, my life has changed since the attacks. This past year I have done a lot of traveling, and every time I stepped on an airplane, I couldn't help but think about what happened on September 11, 2001. I also appreciate the life that I have and the country I live in. I think that we are all so lucky to have the freedoms and rights that others can only dream of.
NMAH Story: Remembered
I think everyone involved from September 11th should be remembered. The fire fighters and police officers for risking their lives to save others, the paramedics and volunteers who did their part with the medical aid, the innocent people who lost their lives, and even the terrorists because we need to realize that not everyone in this world wants to be our friend and their are people who see our country as a threat merely because we have a democracy.
NMAH Story: Flag
Yes, my family did fly the American flag after the attacks, but my feelings about the flag have not changed much. I have always looked to the flag as a simble of the freedom we have.
