NMAH Story: Story
I had just dropped my son off at St. Mark's School of Dallas. As usual, I hit the radio button as I drove off. I love to listen to KRLD News Radio as I drive to work. This morning I knew immediately something terrible had happened because the reporting was from a New York affiliate about a plane hitting the World Trade Center. At this time, it appeared it was just a tragic accident. The New York radio station received a call from a man who lived nearby describing the plane as a grey commuter plane. This put me at ease. I thought, as I drove down Orchid Lane next to the school, at least it's not a terrorist incident. Just 10 short minutes later, as I was merging onto LBJ Freeway, the shocking announcement of a second plane hitting. Instantly I realized it was indeed a terrorist incident. I shouted out in anger. "Where's the Air Force?" "Shoot them down". I called my wife and told her that planes had hit the World Trade Center and it was intentional. She spent the rest of the day watching T.V. I went on to work where people tried to carry out there normal duties but felt completely numb about what was happening in the East.
NMAH Story: Life Changed
Not really. I think we have to continue our lives or the terrorists have achieved their aims. I am completely committed to supporting President Bush in his War on Terror.
NMAH Story: Remembered
Everything. We should never forget. We should never forget what these people are about and that they will keep trying unless we destroy them.
NMAH Story: Flag
We sported a flag on our Jeep for a while. The flag is our most important symbol of the values and freedoms that America stands for. It is not just a piece of material. It is much more than that. It stands for America. Anyone who does not respect the flag doesn't deserve to live here.
