NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. I had just dropped my son off at St. Mark's School of Dallas. As usual, I hit the radio button as I drove off. I love to listen to KRLD News Radio as I drive to work. This morning I knew immediately something terrible had happened because the reporting was from a New York affiliate about a plane hitting the World Trade Center. At this time, it appeared it was just a tragic accident. The New York radio station received a call from a man who lived nearby describing the plane as a grey commuter plane. This put me at ease. I thought, as I drove down Orchid Lane next to the school, at least it's not a terrorist incident. Just 10 short minutes later, as I was merging onto LBJ Freeway, the shocking announcement of a second plane hitting. Instantly I realized it was indeed a terrorist incident. I shouted out in anger. "Where's the Air Force?" "Shoot them down". I called my wife and told her that planes had hit the World Trade Center and it was intentional. She spent the rest of the day watching T.V. I went on to work where people tried to carry out there normal duties but felt completely numb about what was happening in the East. NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. Not really. I think we have to continue our lives or the terrorists have achieved their aims. I am completely committed to supporting President Bush in his War on Terror. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? Everything. We should never forget. We should never forget what these people are about and that they will keep trying unless we destroy them. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? We sported a flag on our Jeep for a while. The flag is our most important symbol of the values and freedoms that America stands for. It is not just a piece of material. It is much more than that. It stands for America.
