NMAH Story: Story

Mallary Oden
I was in Mrs. Gaydon's social studies class in 2nd period
at Thompson Middle School on the day of 9/11. At first I didn't
know what was going on. I was having mixed emotions. I had
questions like: Why would somebody do something like this
to the United States of America? What did we do wrong?
They came over the intercom and told us to turn on our T.V.
It was so shocking what had happened.I didn't know if I
wanted to go home or not, but I was happy to be with my
classmates and best friends. I was happy to be alive, but
at the same time I felt bad that it had happened to all
of those people and I was safe and sound at school. It
took a few days for it to actually sink in that this had
happened to "the land of the free".I was upset, but happy
at the same time.It changed my view on the U.S.A. I
appreciate life more now.

NMAH Story: Life Changed

Yes, I have a better outlook on life now.
I really realized that life is short and I should start
pursuing my dreams now because my life could be over quicker
than I expect.

NMAH Story: Remembered

The people that died saving other peoples lives.

NMAH Story: Flag

I try to every day show my patriotism even though I don't
have a flag to fly.
