NMAH Story: Story

On the morning of September 11th; I viewed history in the making. However, this was definitely not the type of history that I wished to see being made. The day that this horrible incident occurred, I was in school. As I entered second period, around 9:20 a.m., I walked into a classroom with a television on, which was a very strange thing. I, as well as my classmates and teacher, sat down to watch a little of what was going on. We then came to find out that a plane had hit one of the Twin Towers, and the second Tower was just hit by a plane also. Seconds later, it was announced that the Pentagon had been hit by a plane and yet another plane was hijacked. Minutes later, we viewed one of the Towers fall to the ground and then the second. People were running everywhere, and they were covered from head to toe in the debris from the falling, burning Towers. Men, women, and even children were running for their lives to escape the falling debris, heat, and fumes from these buildings while others watched on in horror not knowing if their loved ones were hurt, dead, or alive. September 11th; surely made history in everyone's hearts and lives.
