NMAH Story: Story
I was home getting ready for work listening to the news, I heard Matt Lauer the newsanchor say that it appeared a plane had hit one of the towers an apparent "accident." When the cameras were showing the viewing audience a picture of the tower that had been hit, I remember seeing the second plane coming toward the tower thinking "that plane looks low," and witnessed it hitting the second tower. I was speechless. I live in upstate New York and immediately called my mother, sister and husband to let them know what was happening. My husband called me from work and as I was talking with him the third plane crashed into the pentagon. I was scared for all of the nation at this point knowing that there were multiple targets. When I had heard there was a fourth plane still not accounted for I was on my way to work and remember hearing that it crashed in Pa. I had such an array of emotions thorughout the day, I couldn't wait to go home to be with my family. I remember that night my husband and I slept cuddled together more than usual both knowing that we were grateful to be alive and that we should not take life for granted.
