NMAH Story: Story
The morning of September 11th started just like any other day. I woke up, got dressed and ready, and went to school, not knowing any of the tragic events that would transpire that heartrending day. It was first period, my science class, when a janitor informed us that a plane had struck one of the WTC towers. At that time, I believed then that the whole ordeal had been an accident. We continued through class as always, but it was apparent that the news was on eveyone's mind. The bell rang, and my class went to PhysEd. We viewed the events on "The Today Show" for the remainder of the day. During this time, we watched the second plane hit. All doubts were laid to rest then; the tragedy was now an attack on our country. I was genuinely afraid for a while. Would these be the only attacks that day? Or were there others? This tribulation changed us all.
NMAH Story: Life Changed
Everyone's life has changed. Now we understand that you don't truly appreciate someone or something until it is gone.
NMAH Story: Remembered
We need to remember the effect it had on us all and how we changed and adapted according to the tragedy. But, most importantly, we must remember the heroism shown by those who have tirelessly worked to save others and the champions on the downed flight in Pennsylvania.
NMAH Story: Flag
That is the thing about the flag: it has not changed at all. No matter how hard they try, they can never change the flag in any way. It will always be our symbol of heroism, patriotism, and hope.
