NMAH Story: Story
My wife, daughter and I were vacationing in Myrtle Beach, SC. My wife had got up early that morning to go to the beach. I was awoken by my 3 year old daughter to turn on cartoons and to fix her breakfast. I turned on the TV and they had just reported the first plane hitting the first tower of the World Trade Center. I watched in horror as the second plane hit and the reports came in from the attack on the Pentagon and the crash in Pennsylvania. Not thinking my daughter knew what was happening, she turned to me and said, "Daddy, those people who done this are very mean." I said "yes honey, they are." I realized at that time, that our children notice much more then what we give them credit. We decided to leave the next day with the images in our minds that would haunt us forever.
NMAH Story: Life Changed
I respect our freedom now more than ever. I realize that none of us are truly safe.
NMAH Story: Remembered
The heroes, those who died, those who survived.
NMAH Story: Flag
I did fly a flag, I love the flag now more than I ever did. I have always had much respect for it.
