hi dad and joyce.
we are fine. they evacuated our building yesterday (as they did most of downtown) and we had to walk 3-4 miles home since the subway wasn't working AND all the taxis of course were filled up. we were moving faster than the traffic though. As soon as we got home, we took off and went out to ocean city, about 150 miles away and stayed overnight. just got back into the office. everyone is kinda freaked out. i have a friend who works close to the wtc and she said she had to "run for her life" when the buildings fell. another friend WORKS in the wtc and she saw the second plane crash and the people jumping.
i have to say DC got out lucky. that other plane that crashed in PA was probably coming here for the second punch. they crashed just over the maryland border. my apt. is only a mile from the capitol. my office is only 3 blocks from the white house.
i feel the same way i did during the riots. frightened. but being here right now is probably the safest place to be since the President is in town and they have fighter jets patrolling the sky and army trucks all over the place. surreal.
