Hi Mom,
Everything's still going well here. I've been listening to the radio a lot, but other than that, stuff seems normal. ... I spoke to Susan and Jim, and I think everyone I know in DC and NYC is okay. And Bijal in DC said last night that she could see the smoke from her apartment window, which is only about a mile from the Pentagon.
So yeah, it's a hell of a lot to take in. ... Now my biggest fear is that this may lead to war with Afghanistan, which may turn into WWIII, which may turn nuclear. Afghanistan does have nuclear capability.
Speaking of foreign lands, I also heard from Brian, and he's okay in Jerusalem, though his program may be cut short. Oh, and I don't know if I told Dad about the MD state of emergency--apparently a list of 11 "targets" was found, the Trade Center and Pentagon among them, and they also included the MD capitol building in Annapolis and the World Trade Center right here in Baltimore. Well, if I mentioned that to you, that scare is over--they discovered it to be a hoax earlier this morning.
I'm going to go make dinner (it's strange shopping/cooking/cleaning--tonight I'm trying couscous with sliced yellow pepper). I still haven't hooked my computer up at home, so if I only respond to e-mails once a day it's because I can only check them that often.
