Jim,
Thanks for the great article and your concern. My office is -- or was -- in
1 World Financial Center, about 11 yards accross the West Side Highway from
the South Tower. In fact, every morning between 8:15 and 9am I walk through
the Trade Center, cross the connecting bridge, and enter the safe sanctuary
that is the ultimate bastion of civilization -- Dow Jones. I was not however
in my office yesterday and haven't been in a few months. I am on an extended
maternity leave and using the extra time off to finish a novel that will be
published by Haper Collins this winter. I have a lot to be grateful for these
days -- sometimes during the late night feedings and in the frustration of
endless re-writes, I forget that fact. I am not sure I will ever forget it
again.
