Yes. My home and firm are in central Manhattan, about 3 1/2 miles North of the WTC.
My office window faces South from midtown and for hours my co-workers & I have been staring at the plumes of smoke still rising from the catastrophe. Several of us have witnessed plane collisions and building collapses.
The mood of the city is frantic and distraught. All bridges & tunnels are closed indefinitely. Traffic from downtown is clogging the streets and many are walking away from the area like urban refugees.
The WTC towers were prominent features of the skyline. To have the largest buildings of the largest city in the country be destroyed is stunning, a shock.
I have pledged my continuous support to my company to enable ongoing operations and help maintain the viability of the firm and the institutions we provide for. It is the intent of terrorists to disable and demoralize U.S. citizens and I will do my best to defeat their goals.
