911DA Story: Story
I work in a nursing facility for the elderly. When I was called to the TV, I could not believe my eyes. All sorts of questions were asked? Who? What? Why? How could this happen in America? It was difficult to comprehend the full picture. It was more like we were watching a horrible movie.
We were joined by a young Iranian friend. He has been here many years as a student and now as a professional. I believe that he was uncomforable as we watched.
Tears were in our eyes and we all felt drawn to watch as often as we could that day.
9/11/01 made me sit and write my special thoughts to my children. They needed to know how I felt about the world and especially about them.
Life is not the same anymore. Nothing is taken for granted.
Each time we speak, we tell the other that we love them. We never know when it may be our last call.
