Description
This photograph was taken on the corner of Columbia Road and 18th Street NW in the Adams-Morgan neighborhood of Washington, DC.
In the immediate aftermath of the 9/11, attacks people created impromptu shrines and held candlelight vigils throughout the nation's capital. This is one of the shrines that popped up over night. This shrine was interactive, inviting members of the community to add their thoughts to the large canvas affixed to the wall.
