Description
"world trade center 1974 by anthony risser," a snapshot I took while on the river for a presentation I was to give in high school that year. "Like two upended rows of staples taken out from a staple box," I recall saying in my presentation.
The shaft of empty space between the two towers was an ever-varying visual element of the design that always pleased me. A favorite theme of mine was to find ways to contrast the Gothic elements of the Woolworth Building against the two minimalist structures. This early river-view snapshot shows the full length of the towers from base to top, as neighboring buildings in the complex had yet to be completed.
