This is a picture of the Twin Towers and Trinity Church (in the foreground) taken by a friend just weeks before the attack of September 11, 2001. Coincidentally, this picture marks the spot (within feet) of where I was walking the moment the first of the two Towers began to collapse. I live two blocks south of the World Trade Center and saw the second plane fly immediately past my bedroom window that terrible morning. Like Trinity Church (Manhattan's oldest and the site of George Washington's inaugural mass), I am still standing.
