Despite Mr Feinberg's diplomatic statement, the victims like are greedy. Since the taxpayers are not at fault, the logic of damages and tort law don't apply. This is compassion, not atonement for guilt. Furthermore, since Mr. Feinberg asserts that this fund provides only a floor to prevent hardship, why are victims' families provided varying compensation for economic damages? All deaths should be compensated equally. A janitor's family should get the same as a CEO. My compassion is becoming thin and maybe the whole program should be stopped. Why do I as a taxpayer have to pay for their loss?
