Victim's Compensation

My name is and I lost my only sibling and ONLY relative
except for my parents. My brother was 32 years old and a very hard worker.
Under the current plan my family would receive nothing or the minimum amount
awarded. We find this completely unfair for a son who had his whole life in
front of him. My brother was engaged and was killed before he could have
children. We find those victims who were killed without children are being
forgotten or penalized. My parents made many sacrifices to raise a
successful and large tax paying citizen and they are now being forgotten in
the process!

Our family members that lost their lives while at work were not protected by
our government. Our government is currently spending over 60 billion dollars
on the war on terrorism and 5 billion dollars to bail out the airline
industry, yet under the current tables approximately 1.5 billion will be
spent on compensation for 3,000 families who have been drastically impacted
by their loss. Our rights have been taken away to litigate due to Congresses
rush on September 22nd to protect the airlines by imposing restrictions
limiting lawsuits. Not only have our constitutional rights to sue been
limited, a constitutional challenge to this litigation would take years to
resolve.

Mr. Feinberg should change the current regulations and:
1. Use up to date New York statistics which would reflect the victims
potential lifetime earnings.
2. Eliminate the cap of $225,000 in yearly earning potential.
3. Increase non-economic damages taking into consideration the immeasurable
pain and suffering endured by our loved ones and our families. Non-economic
damages should be guaranteed due to the offsets applied by Congress and the
amount of individuals who will receive limited compensation from the fund.
4. Families should be fully informed of what their compensation will be in
writing prior to officially waving their rights to litigate
5. PRIVATE INSURANCE should NOT be deducted from the families compensation.
Victim's are being penalized for being RESPONSIBLE citizens!

Again our government failed to protect our families on 911, it should be a no
brainer to do all you can for them now!

Sincerely,

Individual Comment
