911DA Story: Story
My name is Phil Simons and I had a job interview in Manassas on September 10. On September 11 i left early to drive to Western PA for a second dinner interview that night.
I was in Northern MD when I first heard of the Twin Tower and the Pentagon crashes. I thught "my God I was just miles away from the Pentagon" and I tried to envision what must be going on.
I drove further into PA and stopped for gas and to use the money machine and then I continued on to my destination. While driving I lisened to the announcement about the plane going down in PA but I was unfimilar with the area and did not know the location.
That night, in my room, I was emptying my pockets and I looked at the money machine receipt. For a location it said "Somerset PA". Even though I did not see any of the occurances it really hit home by just being in the area. I still have the money machine receipt.
