911DA Story: Story

On September 11 I was in my first year of college at Western Michigan University. I remember my alarm going off and thinking about skipping my 9 am class. After diecding that i couldnt miss I got and started to get ready for class. When i walked out of my room I noticed that the girls across the hall were up with their door open and they were glued to tge TV. They saw me and yelled somehtign about a plane hitting one of the world trade towers. I stood in their room watching the footage of what we thought was a terrible accident, then left when i realized i would be late for class. By the time i walked across the street and sat down the who would had changed. It wasnt an accident anohter plan had hit the other tower. Classes were clanceled so i walke dback to my doorm where i learned about missing plans and more hit buildings. I rememebr walking to the cafateria and everyone was eating, silent with eyes glued to the TV. I still get chills when i see the image of the second plane hitting. I remember seeing the building colapse thnking follishly that everyone got out. It didnt really hit me how much the world had changed untill my father who owns a business near detroit close to my home town and said that they wer closing down plants. Driving home that weekend i still rember the shock of driving by the Detroit airport and not seing a single plan land or take off. I try my hardest to remember the events of that day so that i can one day tell my children how in one wlak across the street how i went from feeling saf in my home country to a feeling of fear of what tragedy might happen next.
