I slept until after noon on that day. I had given birth to triplets just two weeks earlier. None of them survived due to complications. I was in mourning. The events that took place in New York that day brought me to life. I was able to stop crying for the first time in about a month. The tragedy of 9/11/01 was a bitter-sweet day for me. It was devastating to the world I live in, while on the other hand I was happy to know my children would not have to grow up in a world full of terror and confusion...they were already in a better place.
