My husband and I were in bed asleep when my alarm went off. It was set to a station that broadcast one of the national morning news shows. As I reached up to shut it off, I heard the voice of the evening world news anchor. I don't recall what he said, but I realized for him to be on in the morning, something was terribly wrong. I ran to turn on the tv just before the second plane hit. I spent the next few minutes yelling information to my still in bed husband. He thought I was joking at first, but quickly joined me in front of the tv. A place we stayed for nearly the entire week following the attacks. Our emotions ran from horrible shock to outright grief during those long days.
