911DA Story: Story
Quite frankly, I don't need a memorial on the fifth anniversary of 9.11. I remember it every day of my life because I have two daughters, out in the world, whose safety I think about constantly.
After catching bits of the predictable so-called news reports of memorials around the country, all day long, I tuned out. By the end of the day, a plane heading for the Albany airport, in a way that appeared to be perilously low, brought tears to my tired eyes. When I got home, I prepared a packet of poems on the theme of the American Apocalypse for submission to a literary magazine.
