My New York dad, then 76, and 2 years removed from open heart surgery had retirement business to handle about a 1/2 mile from the WTC the week before 9/11. Thank God he went then and not on that terrible Monday. I'd hate to think what might've happened if he'd been in that neighborhood as the buildings collapsed.
