911DA Story: Story
I had just dropped my youngest son off at kindergarten and stopped to chat with another mom on the school's parking lot. It was a beautiful day here in the midwest; the kind of day that makes you happy to be alive.
Upon arriving home, I received a call from my mother telling me of the attack. She was quite upset and was recalling a day long ago when she was 12 years old - the day of the attack on Pearl Harbor. She said she felt like she did that day. I envisioned my 12-year old twins recalling this Tuesday many years from now. Such days leave a lasting impact.
When my children, and, later, my husband, arrived home that day we gathered together for the evening to keep up with the day's continuing events, grateful to be together.
