I flew into New York in November and took this photo of lower Manhattan from the plane. Having grown up within sight of the Twin Towers, I was brought to tears by this view.
This B&W Photo (color did not seem appropriate) showed ground zero from a 300MM telephoto. Closer proximity was blocked by the military. It looks like London (or any other war torn city) after a bombing. A site I hope never to photograph again.
This picture was taken from Scenic View B on the Northbound Side of the Palisades Parkway three days after 9/11. The picture does not do what I saw justice. The cloud was extremely thick. It was horrifying.
