911DA Story: Story
I had the day off so I had slept in a bit late that day.I also had the house to myself since my parents had spent the previous night down at my Grandmothers beachouse.
I woke up at around 11:00-11:30am and walked out into the parlor from my parents room where I slept the night before.
Walking into the bathroom to wash the sleep from my eyes I gazed towards the tv I had left on the night before I as usually do to get to sleep. I saw the black clouds and the little Today Show New York City tag and it didn't even hit me that it was such a horrible incident.I figure there had been some kind of explosion of some sort. Then I called my memere to see if she knew what exactly had happened.By this time I had my ear to the phone and the tv as I listened from both what happened.I remember my jaw just dropping as I was told the news about the towers,the pentagon and later the plane crashing in Pennsylvania. I watched as they replayed the horrific scenes at the Towers and just kept saying to myself this can't be real it just can't.
I have never been to New York but for some reason I felt just as shocked and even scared. I immediately called my parents at the beachhouse.Knowing they weren't in any danger was something I already knew but I just had to speak to them anyway. I still look up when I hear a plane,or look out the window when I hear one over head.
