911DA Story: Story
I was already sad that day because my mama had died in May, two weeks before moving here from Cleveland, Ohio, and it was her birthday. I was teaching (special education) when my assistant got a call from her daughter. Her daughter was crying. She talked to her and hung up and told me. I turned on the classroom TV. I turned it off when the second plane hit. Many students wanted to know what had happened. I truly didn't know what to tell them. Sept. 11, 2001 will stay with me forever. I mourn those who gave their lives to save others and those left behind, missing their loved ones. I celebrate that the United States of America became strong once again and the world was behind us. I will never forget the United Kingdom playing our National Anthem. I shed a lot of tears that day and for many days that followed. I shed tears today, 1 year later. However, I thank God and ask him to protect those fighting so this terrorism will stop. I pray that someday there will be Peace on Earth as there is in Heaven. Thank you God and God Bless all. This is send with much love towards mankind, because Love can change us all. Janet Wright, Raleigh NC
