911DA Story: Story
I'd woken up to my husband running into the bedroom on the morning of Tuesday, September 11th, telling me to turn on the TV. We both watched in horror as we saw the first plane inside the Tower. We'd thought, as may others had, that it was a fluke, that a pilot had horribly and mistakenly crashed the plane. Then the second plane hit. We were dumbfounded. The rest of the day was filled with confusion and sadness. Although we weren't anywhere near the damage, we still felt it deeply.
Later on that day, I got a call from a friend of mine. She informed me that two friends of ours, David and Lynn Angell, were on Flight 11, which is the first plane to have crashed. At that point, my sadness and confusion was compounded by my grief at the loss of two very dear people.
The world will never be the same after 9-11-01.
