CIA:  Office Used For Spying On U.N. Diplomats Destroyed Sept. 11

CIA: Office Used For Spying On U.N. Diplomats Destroyed Sept. 11A secret
CIA office housed in the World Trade Center complex used for spying on and
recruiting U.N. diplomats was destroyed in the Sept. 11 attack, the New
York Times reported yesterday.
The New York station, which operated under the front of another branch of
the U.S. government, was also involved in debriefing American business
executives and others upon their return to the United States from traveling
overseas (James Risen, New York Times, Nov. 4).
The CIA's main office in New York was not damaged by the attacks, but some
agents are being housed at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations and other
federal offices in New York (Associated Press/Washington Post, Nov. 5).
