I was in school, in the guidance office trying to get my schedule fixed (they mess it up every year). Then my math teacher from last year comes into the guidance office, and said to me "Tim, the world trade center was just hit by a jet...". I was like o' my god. He told me that the news said the jet flew off of course and accidentaly hit the tower. I was amazed, but I didn't really think too much of it at that time. Later in the day, when I was in networking class, an annoucement comes over the loudspeaker stating that tower two was hit, and they now think it was terrorists...
