911DA Story: Story
On September 11th, I remember I was in math class when the attacks had happened. I was also in fourth grade, so I didn't really know what was going on. I remember that at about 11:00 a lot of people started leaving the classroom being picked up by their parents. The people who remained gave out loud outbursts wondering why everybody was leaving. There was also no reccess that day, which was also a big wonder, because it was perfect sunny day good enough for playing tag. Finally after a while, they called a school meeting in the gym, which they used as a mkeshift auditorium. They told us that there had been an attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon by terrorists. I didn't understand some of this because I wondered what terrorists were specifically and I didn't know what the "World Trade Center" was because I only knew it the plain and simple, "The Twin Towers." When I got home, my mom was there sitting in front of the television looking at the awful images of fireballs and planes crashing into the Pentagon and the twin towers. My dad finally told me what the World Trade Center was. I also remember he had a flight in the afternoon that day, so it was relief that he got to stay home. I didn't really pay attention to it because I looked at it differently back then than I do now.
