911DA Story: Story
During the September 11 attacks, I was sitting in my baking class listening to a lecture on quick breads. Suddenly, the phone rang. It was my teacher?s mom calling to tell her to turn on the T.V. because a plane had just hit one of the twin towers. To be honest, no one payed that much attention to the T.V. until the second twin tower was hit. We saw it live. Some kids cried and others, including myself, went silent. The news reporters were crying out "this is an act of war". It was the first time that I had seen broadcasters panic. Everyone in the class stood still and silent. Are eyes were glued to the television; no one spoke. When class ended, it was eerie to walk down the hallways because for the first time it was completely silent; everyone was stunned. The thing I remember the most, is when I was walking to the spot where my friends and I meet, I saw a group of boys and I thought to myself that this could be the last time I see them because they might be drafted.
