911DA Story: Story

I was at home and had just sent my 8yr old off for school. Since I was up that early, I turned on the local news and that was when I saw what had happened.
Then, I heard that a plane went down on the other side of Pennsylvania, the state I live in. I was a nervous wreck. I wasn't sure if these attacks were going to continue and if my son was in danger. I didn't know whether to go back to the school and get my son. Luckily, we were safe here, but I just wanted to hold my boy, but decided to leave him at school. I didn't want him to get upset. I thought he was handling it quite well for an 8yr old who's old enough to understand what was going on, until I got the chance to really sit him down and ask him about it. The poor kid wanted to come home because he said he thought I was dead and just wanted me. I lost it, cried and held him. He was more upset than I thought. He asked me why they did this. His exact words were,"What did we ever do to them?" How do you tell your son how much hatred is in this world for someone to do this to so many people? I didn't understand it myself. I'd like to express my deepest sympathies to all the victims. I'd also like to thank all the people who helped. The ones on the front lines and also the people behind the scenes helping with food, drink, etc.
