I was in the student lounge between classes watching "Good Morning America" when the first reports and pictures of the tragedy were broadcast. I immediately had a suspicion that our country was under attack, being a military man. I was deeply hurt and saddened as the the news reports continued, finally wiping the tears from my eyes and finding hard to swallow. I immediately wanted to help in any way I could. I remained sad for the many weeks following September 11th, 2001 and as the approaching anniversary nears, I still feel that hurt and sadness. I will always be an American, and a proud serving one. I will forever keep those fellow Americans and their families in my heart and my prayers.
