911DA Story: Story

I was on my way to Andrews Air Force Base Hospital for a
pre-op examination for scheduled surgery on the 18th.
I was on the Beltway (495)and listening to the local radio station when the Disc Jockey announced that an airplane hit the World Trade Center. The announcer was not certain of the details of damage, when approximately 15 minutes later he reported that another plane hit the second World Trade Center building. At this time I had a sick feeling in my stomach, and I knew that this would be sad day. Upon entering the Hospital everyone was in a state of urgency. Everyone in the hospital that was available, was glued to the television watching the events unfold before them. I was finally seen by nurse to take my vitals and was sent home. When I arrived home, my collegue called my house to inform me that our friend and collegue's wife was
seriously injured in the Pentagon terrorist act. She was severly burned. What a day to remember!
