911DA Story: Story
The morning of September 11th of 2001 started out as a regular day; I was getting ready to go to school. For some reason, I turned on the TV that day. I usually never watch TV before school, but that morning, I decided to see if there was anything interesting on. To my surprise, there was news coverage on the Twin Towers on every single channel. At first, I had no idea what was going on. I saw images of two, tall buildings on fire, but I didn't know what had happened to cause such a thing to happen.
My parents were in the living room watching it when I was about to leave for school. They told me that a plane had crashed into the Twin Towers that morning in New York. At my high school, that was what all the commotion was about. My Biology teacher brought in the TV for us to watch during class. The whole schedule at school was off that day. No one really wanted to teach or learn while there was so much disaster going on. Innocent people were dead, firemen and policemen were working hard to rescue others, hospitals were full with injured victims, and all around the world, people were asking, "Why did this happen?"
What happened on September 11th was a very tragic thing to have happened to our nation- the United States of America. We lost our sense of security, and nothing would ever be the same again. I was sad that such a terrible thing had occurred and hoped that all the families who were affected more deeply than mine would be able to cope with the disaster. It was a horrid nightmare to many, and I truly hope that it would never repeat itself again.
