911DA Story: Story

It was just another typical morning. Or so I thought. While heading up Route 495 North in Tewksbury, MA I turned on my radio. I heard a woman reporter saying the World Trade Center had been hit. At that time, it appeared to be a blast of smoke and fire. No one knew exactly what had happened. When I got to work every one was in shock! How could this happen in the United States? And why were we chosen? As the day unfolded I continued to log on to CNN news from my computer. Every time I heard more devastating news, I'd run into my boss' office and fill him in. I work in Sales, and we didn't sell a thing that day. We just couldn't pick up the phone and chat with our customers regarding our high tech solutions when people were dying. I kept thinking about my deceased father who had served five years in the Army; he had come through the Battle of the Bulge with Patton. I think had he been alive, he would have been deeply disturbed because he had seen the horrible effects of what bombs can do. I was lucky...I didn't loose any one to that day.
