911DA Story: Story
I received a telephone call from my mother at work. She told me that a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center in New York and that it was believed to be a terrorist act. Thinking that it was just a little plane and that my mother was probably worrying about nothing, I got on the internet and saw the second plane crash into the other Tower. I sat in shock at my desk. It was liking watching a movie, only it was really happening. After the intial shock, my first thougt was who could have done this and why? As the events unfolded, the more upset I became and the more I wanted to leave work and just be with my family. For days after, everyone was still in shock. The sight of all the support from other people across the world still brings a feeling to me that I can't describe. The people that did this to America obviously thought that we would crumble, but true to the spirit on which we were founded - we came back stronger and more united than before! The loss that the people and family of New York, Washington D. C. and Pennsylvania victims are going through is incomprehensible, but they are a part of a larger, caring and loving family.....America. If I live to be 100 I will never forget September 11, 2001, or the fact that I have the privelege and honor to live in the best country in the world...the United States of America - One nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.
To the families of September 11, 2001, victims, you will never be forgotten!
To the families of September 11, 2001, victims, you will never be forgotten!
