911DA Story: Story

I was driving to work and I was thinking how blue the sky was and what a beautiful day it was. I was listening to Howard Stern on the radio and in the middle of the conversation he interrupted saying he had breaking news ... that a plane had hit the World Trade Center. At first I thought it may be one of his jokes, so when I got to work I decided to check the internet and see if there was any news posted. I started to worry when I couldn't get on the internet. All of a sudden, one of my co-workers burst into the office yelling that a plane had hit the Twin Towers. Just then, someone yelled out "the other tower has been hit." That's when I new it was for real and I was certain it was terrorism.

Living in New York - just one hour away from Manhattan - I am so grateful that no one I love was in those towers, but I ache for each and every person who lost someone. And although I did not know the victims, each and every one of them has touched my life forever. May they all rest in peace.

We will never forget.
