911DA Story: Story

I woke up early that day to get my daughter ready for preschool.
I turned on the television right after the first plane hit
the World Trade Center. They didn't even know if it was an
accident or terrorist activity. I called my husband, who was
in Florida on business, and my sister to alert them of what
was going on. Both of them thought I was a little crazy that
day. I then watched in horror as I saw the second plane hit
a second building. It was live, and I just wanted to jump
out and grab the plane to keep this from happening. I just
couldn't believe what I was seeing. I remember feeling so
sad I could hardly breathe. I continued to get my daughter
ready for preschool as I had decided that it was best for her
not to see this tragedy unfold. My neighbor was watching a
different station, and called me to say that the Pentagon had
been hit. At that point, I lost all sense of security. If
they can hit the Pentagon, then no one is safe. I cried for
hours that day and for many days after that. The best thing
that came out of this tragedy for me was that I began to
help in the fight back. I joined a group to send "goodies"
and letters to our military. They need our support in fighting
this war against terrorism. May God bring us together and
bless those that have lost loved ones as well as bless those
that are fighting for our freedom and safety. May the United
States of American stand united.
