NMAH Story: Story
I work at an elementary school in Fort Wayne, IN. Our principal told us to turn on our TV's. (no students were at school yet) I saw the burning tower and moments later another plane hit the second one. I ran across the hall to my own room and called my husband at work. He couldn't believe what I was telling him. "Are you sure?" he ask Since my family and I are so far from New York I knew there was no way this would personally affect us. I was wrong. I got an e-mail from my daughter. She had just talked to a client in the tower an hour before the plane hit. Over the course of her job she has had contact with many people on that same floor. Her comment was that "They are not dead they are just gone." "What is happening and where are we safe?" "I love you mom." That's a lot to here from your 26 year old daughter. How do you comfort and what do you say? "I love you too."
